Reformed drug addict to make a statement

By Seleoe Nonyane

A recovered drug addict Vuyisile Thabiso Griffiths is to enter his first beauty pageantry competition, the Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho 2023.

Griffiths is a 23-year old born and raised in Soweto, South Africa. He lived in South Africa because his mother used to work in that country until he came to Lesotho in 2016. Currently, he resides in Mazenod in Maseru district.

He is a professional model signed under the Sothokids Culture Agency.

This week, he told theReporter that it has been his dream to be a model for as long as he can remember and his love for the lime light pushed him into modelling.

“I got into modelling because I love clothes and attention. Back in high school they would call me a fashionista because of the way I dressed.

“The kind of clothes I would wear made me unique and set me apart from the rest of my peers,” he said.

He entered the competition because he is a member of a culture agency whose main is to embrace culture so believing it is his right competition.

He strongly believes he is the only contestant who comes from initiation school. He therefore, calls himself the ambassador of culture and said this is what affords him a better chance of winning the Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho 2023.

The model indicated that what sets him apart from other contestants is his bad history which he was able to overcome. So, this shows that he can beat anything that comes his way.

He said that he is fully invested into this competition despite being his first and promised to bring uo the heat.

“This is my first beauty pageant but it does not mean I cannot make it. I am bringing my A game into this competition, so my rivals should not relax.

“I bring a movie or a bomb.  Some people call me crazy because I am extra ordinary. I intend on growing the Mr and Miss Culture Lesotho brand. So, after I take that crown Mr and Miss culture will be known all over the world because of what I bring,” he said.

The model also added that through this competition he wants to motivate and inspire those walking in his footsteps to leave that life of drugs behind and be better people.

He stressed how important this competition is to him and is adamant that it is also going to open a lot of opportunities for him.

As his first competition, he believes that this is going to help him gain much needed experience in pageantry and his modelling career.

The model said apart from modelling he is a hustler who is also indulging in brick making.
