Lesotho soldier dies in Mozambique

The office of the Prime Minister on behalf of his King Letsie III’s government has announced the obituary in respect of Commando Corporal Lebohang Solomon Mofoka of the Lesotho contingent deployed in SADC mission in Mozambique (Samim).

When addressing the nation on Saturday, Prime Minister Moeketsi Majoro revealed that Mofoka of the Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) and others were on duty at Muelela in the district of Nangade, in Cabo Delgado province in Mozambique on evening Friday, July 22, 2022.

Majoro passed his heartfelt condolences to the King for the sudden loss of this brave gallant service member of the LDF who has met his untimely death in the service of his nation and the region respectively.

“To the bereaved family, particularly the spouse and his close relatives, please accept our heartfelt condolences for this saddening loss.

“Wishing those who have sustained injuries a speedy recovery so that they will soon resume their normal duties,” Moeketsi said.
