The moment of truth! – ABC back with a vengeance

The All Basotho Convention (ABC) party rounded off its string of rallies with the latest held last Sunday in Maseru.

ABC was formed in 2006 by former Prime Minister Motsoahae Thabane. It is also a result of Lesotho Congress Democracy (LCD) split.

Speaking to party members ahead of tomorrow’s elections, its leader Nkaku Kabi started by reading verse from the Bible.

He continued to show that there are 24 constituency members who have not been able to make it to the last rally due to transport challenges and urged those that were said to be on their way to Maseru around 1700hrs when he was delivering his speech to return home as it was already late.

He asked 80 ABC candidates to observe the numbers that were attending at the rally and to remember that the number of followers that ABC has are because of the trust that people had on former ABC leader Motsoahae Thabane. He therefore warned candidates not to forget the people that will elect them to power.

He preached unity among all members of the ABC and said they are there because they are pushing the vision that Thabane had when he formed the party. He asked all the members to work very hard to make sure that they make their dream a reality.

“We ask the ABC to give us their votes and all Basotho as we promise that after elections, we are going to make sure that Basotho farmers get the money they need from the banks to increase crop production.

“Lesotho gets broke because we bring people to invest in the country even on business that can be in the hands of Basotho to allow circulation of money in the country. We will also ensure that decentralisation happens so that councilors are able to do their work.

“After October 7 we are going to make sure that the newly built Queen II hospital serves the people so that even people from outside Lesotho would come and seek services in the country. It is important to improve the health system and the sector at large to make sure we do not lose lives only because the health system is ailing,” he said.

He added that ABC is also looking at making sure that Basotho become investors in the garment and textile industries.
