Lesotho PostBank wishes to inform its valued customers and the public at large that it confirmed its first positive case of Covid-19 amongst one of its employees on Thursday the 2nd July 2020. The employee is stationed at the Bank’s Head Office at Mafike House in Maseru. The Bank wishes to highlight that the employee performs back office functions and does not in any way directly interact with or assist customers. The employee has been admitted at one of the accredited COVID-19 quarantine health facilities by the Government of Lesotho for treatment and has shown signs of recovery.
The Bank has since taken the below interventions to protect its staff, customers and all members of the public:
• The Bank has invoked its COVID-19 Response Plan in consultation with the Ministry of Health by isolating all staff members who met with the affected employee as per the standards put in place by the World Health Organisation, and adopted by the Government of Lesotho. Such employees are in self isolation and closely monitored by the Occupational Health and Safety Officer to ensure their safety at all times;
• Fumigation of all offices at the Head Office was undertaken on Thursday the 2nd July 2020 to ensure the safety of all staff members and customers who may enter the Bank’s premises;
• Movement is restricted for customers and any other stakeholders to enter the Bank’s Head Office, and other means are used to hold formal meetings and discussions;
• The Bank continues to implement its rotation plan to ensure that a minimum number of employees are at the Head Office during this time to keep the operations of the Bank available to its valued customers.
As a Bank that is passionate about safety of all its employees, customers and the nation at large, we will continue to render our services in compliance with all safety standards to fight against the spread of this pandemic.
We wish to encourage all our customers to make full use of our digital platforms which are convenient and limit contact with a large group of persons in the spirit of promoting social distancing. We strongly encourage the wearing of masks at all times within the Bank’s premises as well as regular washing of hands and sanitizing.
By Management.
