The director of Sekhametsi Investment Consortium, Matjato Moteane, said after consultations with the Police Commissioner about the police needs, they decided to hand over the PPE to be used by 30 police bikers. Each rider will receive a biking suit, pair of shoes and a helmet.

At the event held at Sekhametsi Centre in Maseru, deputy commissioner of police Paseka Mokete said they have established a patrol unit in response to the ever rising crime rate, and it consists of 30 riders under the supervision of assistant commissioner of police Mofokeng Kolo.

“We’re also going to buy bicycles to augment horse riders in ensuring rapid response to crime,” Mokete said
