Rotary Club donates books to schools

Rotary Club of Maloti in collaboration with the Books4Lesotho initiative handed over educational and non-academic books to four high schools in Maseru on Wednesday.

Rotary is an international service organisation whose stated purpose is to bring together business and professional leaders in order to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. It is a non-political and non-religious organization open to all.

Twenty boxes of educational books were handed over to four schools, namely Life High School, Methodist High School, Lithabaneng Primary School and St. Angela Cheshire Home for Disabled Children.

Rotary president Yande Mothae, implored the recipients of the books to utilise the books and take care of them.

“We shall be coming to these schools to make sure that the books are being utilised. I want to thank our partners in Australia David Linn and his team who sent the books for Lesotho.”

At the same occasion, Rotary director Tlhako Mokhoro, explained that the Rotary Club of Maloti is an organisation that works through joining hands with international companies to ask for donations and assistance.

Books4Lesotho is one of the companies in Australia that are in partnership with them. It collects second hand educational books and sends them to Lesotho and Rotary Club of Maloti distributes them to those in need.
