Lilaphalapha breaks barriers

By Neo Kolane

Husband, father and comedian, Bofihla ‘Neko is expanding his horizons, having launched an online television channel called Lilaphalapha TV on September 17.

‘Neko, a self-confessed patriotic Mosotho man told theReporter that he opted for online TV because he believes it breaks all boundaries as it is not limited to a defined geographical location.

“It is a global thing with a wider reach,” ‘Neko said.

‘Lilaphalapha’, as he is popularly known, continues to indicate that the content of his TV is news and entertainment but will differ from all the other online TV stations around the globe.

“Lesotho, like other countries, has its own uniqueness and we believe there are a lot of untold stories which need to be revealed and be told. We also need to profile our celebrities.”

Lilaphalapha, who loves his country and its people, says countries make their own celebrities but Basotho don’t have that opportunity due to limited publicity.

“I work with Countryside Pictures Production Company owned by Saba Rasehloho; we have had this dream with him for a long time, so we are eager to drive this dream to infinity.”

When asked about the feedback from Basotho, Lilaphalapha said people seem to be liking the idea and enjoying all the shows, bearing in mind that people still do not understand that this is the fourth industrial revolution.

“Things are transforming into the digital world and we have not marketed ourselves adequately for everyone to know about us, but it is a process, we will get there.”

Lilaphalapha boldly said they will work very hard to make it famous because it should be passed on to the future generations.

“We are actually looking at expanding to DSTV with time, that’s how far our vision goes. We are expecting to pull numbers to follow and watch our content; that way we will have achieved our envisaged goals,” Lilaphalapha stated.
