Pharmacist on bail for theft of blood pressure machine

By Kefiloe Kajane

A pharmacist employed at Little Flower Clinic has been arrested on suspicion of theft after a blood pressure machine that had been reported stolen was recovered from a pharmacy that she is said to own.

Pharmacist Mantšieng Senganye also known as Mapoetse Masithela (30) of Leribe Nazareth, who was arrested on 7 October, appeared in court, where she was granted M1,000 bail.

She is expected to appear before the Leribe Magistrate Court on November 14.

Senior Superintendent Mpiti Mopeli said since 2017 “stock had been disappearing” from the Little Flower Clinic, where the accused worked as a pharmacist.

Mopeli said police investigations indicate that the accused owns a pharmacy in Mafeteng called Quick Recovery.

Mopeli said on the day the pharmacist was arrested police recovered a blood pressure machine at Quick Recovery that had “disappeared” from Little Flower Clinic.

Police also found products that had Little Flower Clinic’s branding on them.
