Best Fokothi marketing performer awarded

By Kefiloe Kajane

Local marketing company Precision Marketing Services (PMS) awarded a cash prize to top performer Neo Makhetha a marketing management diploma graduate from Lerotholi Polytechnic on Wednesday last week.

In an interview with theReporter, PMS Chief Marketing Officer Tlali Kele explained that they are a small company which was able to accomplish a lot in a short space of time so they decided to give back to the community.

Makhetha was awarded with a cheque for M1 000 for being the best performer in diploma in marketing management.

Kele said they targeted a marketing student because they are a marketing company, adding they wanted someone who is going to be in their field. He further said when they were preparing to give out the award, they wanted to award someone who has worked hard in their studies.

“We approached Lerotholi Polytechnic so that they can choose for us their top student from the marketing class of 2020 graduates. To us this is a big moment because it is something that we have always wanted to do.

“This is something that we are planning to do every year from now, to pick students that we can award from different institutions. To us this is a way of motivating other students because when they see what hard work does for others they will be motivated to study hard and be top students as well.

“We are also planning on also having her as an intern if by next year she has not found a job. We will take her under our wing so that we can teach her the industry,” Kele said.

Award receiver Neo Makhetha expressed her gratitude to PMS saying the award is the best graduation gift anyone could ever give her.

She said with the money she is planning to reapply and continue with her studies in South Africa. She said it is her dream to study further and obtain a degree in marketing management or study any marketing related course.

“This is something that I can never forget in my life and I hope that this will continue to happen to many other people who work hard,” she said.

PMS is a local company that specialises in marketing research, multimedia and business consultancy.
