Lebohang Morenamotṧo a professional graphic designer and a passionate wood artist started her own company Scar-lett Creations to showcase her art.
Morenamotṧo is a young woman from Maseru who started her company in March this year.
She creates and designs earrings, neck pieces, key holders and many products out of wood.
Speaking to theReporter, Morenamotṧo said her passion for art and the skills she has as a graphic designer has let her to start her own company.
She indicated that she is passionate about being a black person and that has motivated her to be an artist.
“My business is mostly operating online and the support that I get from people on social media is what has made my business grow to where it is today. Their comments always lead me to my next client and I am very grateful for that.
“People love customised products and I am very proud because I can make any wood creations that a client wants,” she said.
She explained that starting her business was not as difficult as it could have been if she did not have the skill or the passion she had for what she does.
She also said currently being on internship is challenging for her business because she is not able to focus more on her business.
However, she is determined to soldier on after completion of her internship.
“During this time when I am still an intern I work from Monday to Saturday which is a challenge to me and my business especially deliveries. Though I am able to design all the clients’ products on my spare time it is difficult for me to deliver in right time,” she told the publication.
She is optimistic that one day she will own an engraving machine which will allow her to produce even more different types of wood creations and grow her brand in order to attract more clients.
She said with that she will also be able to grow as a brand and hire more people while also inspiring others to follow suit.
