Connie to host Halloween fashion show

By Neo Kolane

Local 3D make-up artist ‘Mamokone Liphoto has decided to up a notch of her sfx makeup by hosting the first ever Halloween fashion show in Lesotho.

The 23-year old is a professional makeup artist and fashionista who does not allow detractors’ criticism to stop her from achieving her goals.

Speaking with theReporter, Connie as she is fashionably known, explained that the Halloween fashion show is a collaboration of sfx makeup and fashion. Both makeup and fashion are to take centre stage.

The Matsieng-born budding who is making a mark in effects specialty added that the fashion show is about showcasing all Cograbig designs and makeup skills but most of all showcasing different kinds of costumes like wings animal costumes.

“Halloween fashion Show will be our very first in the country or I may say in Africa because I haven’t heard of it before and it is different because it’s a fashion show in a form of acting on what the models will be wearing.

“We also have poets who will be interpreting the designs and again it Is a costume show. Effect makeup show like those of zombies, wounds and ghosts,” she said.

She revealed that she chose Halloween because she is the first to do effects makeup.  She hopes that many people will attend to see what she calls makeup in action.

“Basotho cannot wait to see the fashion show but others are afraid of those wounds and zombies,” she said.

Founder of Cograbig fashion company also said that she loves models who love her work and feel confident in the garments she sew because she doesn’t do normal clothes.

“I specialize in unique and crazier designs and having models rock them without complaining about how they look is a blessing.

“It will give them a platform to freestyle if they are confident enough,” she promised.

The fashion show will be held at Manthabiseng Convention Centre on the October 30 this year from 18:00pm until late.

With the theme being black and red.
