Giving clients their choice

By Poloko Mokhele

When Refiloe Khotle and Karabelo Phumo established a doughnut packages business in June this year, they knew that they did not need to only limit themselves to selling doughnuts but had to explore other opportunities in order to grow.

The 21-year-olds and good friends whose business idea of packaging doughnuts came after a random discussion of what they can do to get more occupied. They were earger  to generate income for themselves. They then decided to start the trade after they saw a doughnut bouquet on Instagram.

That being a success, they later resoret to packaging and wrapping gifts.

Speaking to theReporter this week, Khotle indicated that when our doughnut packaging business began to do well, we decided that we should not only limit ourselves to selling doughnuts and conducted a research and that is when the packaging and wrapping of gifts business was established.

“We buy, package and wrap customised gifts for our clients and make deliveries wherever they want us to because we realised that in some cases people really wish to give their loved ones some gifts. But sometimes it difficult for them to go to the shops to buy the items,” Khotle remarked.

The youngster who is studying Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the National University of Lesotho and Phumo who is a recent graduate of Diploma in Agriculture from Lesotho Agricultural College said initially, after selling a few doughnut packages, they decided that they needed a name. They looked for something that tells people “what we do but let them know it’s because of them we are doing it.”

“We provide customers with packages they really desire for their loved ones and ours is just one amazing job of packaging and delivering to them. The name is Your Gift Desire.

The duo said before they began their business, they knew how much they needed to start operating and decided to contribute equally on the capital.

Your Gift Desire is available on Facebook, Twitter and on +266 6868 1359 or +266 6865 8651.
