Having been a witness to the effects results of skin care products, Mabohlokoa Mapathe decided to found a business in 2018 which she registered three years later and named Autumn Pear.
Autumn Pear is a skin care product company that makes body products that help fight skin problems.
It can be used by both men and women although it has been proven that women are mostly the ones with most skin problems.
The business is located in Khubetsoana, Bochabela in Maseru.
Maphathe told theReporter this week that she was mesmerized by how her skin turned out after using the products.
She explained that her mother was another inspiration for her starting the business saying that the mother produced such products but in a very small scale.
“My sister also had skin problems; pimples and darks spots, her skin turned out fine after using the products.
“Without a shadow of doubt I realised that I need to open a business of my own,” Maphathe said.
Autumn Pear’s products are Prickly Pear lotion and body butter as well as Blue Algae petroleum jelly.
With the help of four individuals, the products are made from scratch with the help of plant found in the country called prickly pear which is the main ingredient.
Maphathe also gets the prickly pear from her home because her parents have planted it.
Benefits of using prickly pear body lotion and butter include anti-aging and also phasing out marks.
“It stimulates collagen production. With omega six found in prickly pear, it repairs skin barrier, hydrates and fights acne.
“It reduces under-eye circles, soften skin and restore skin elasticity. It is 80 percent natural and results are seen in two weeks,” Maphathe said.
The accountant said the product has been tested by the National University of Lesotho.
Maphathe exports the products to Botshabelo in the Free State province of South Africa.
When asked about competition, Maphathe said there are other businesses but does not regard them as a giving great competition by saying that the results of her products are evident.
