Academy makes learning easy

By Neo Kolane

Online learning establishment, Enigma Academy says it strives to offer convenience and enable students to engage in their studies at their own pace, from the comfort of their home, at any time.

Enigma Academy is more than just a platform; it’s a transformative change in learning, aiming to bridge the gap between traditional and modern teaching methods. This ensures that no student is left behind in their quest for knowledge, irrespective of their circumstances.

The academy’s goal is to deliver a cost-effective platform that can reach every part of Lesotho with internet access. It’s crafted for inclusiveness, catering for every student through a self-paced learning approach.

Enigma Academy is conveniently accessible and compatible with various devices, including smartphones, tablets, and desktops, ensuring learning is not limited to the traditional classroom.

It was founded in 2019, amid a difficult period of prolonged school closures caused by extensive teacher strikes.

One of the founders of the academy, Neo Mokoena, told theReporter recently that the disruptive crisis highlighted a significant void in the education sector. And, as a committed development firm, Enigma acknowledged this urgent need in its quest to develop a solution to lessen the impact of such disruptions on the learning path of students.

Mokoena noted that Lesotho’s educational system suffered a further blow in 2020 when the COVID-19 pandemic emerged, leading to the pressing need for a flexible learning tool.

“This evolving crisis strengthened our determination to build an online platform to ensure continuity of education during such challenging times.

“Our strategy was methodical and targeted. We began an exhaustive process of recruiting top-notch teachers, sharing with them our vision for a sturdy educational platform,” he said.

He noted the positive feedback they received propelled the academy team into a careful process of developing content based on the Lesotho General Certificate of Secondary Education (LGCSE) curriculum.

Mokoena described it as an ‘ambitious project’ that took over two years, during which they concentrated on creating superior content and refining the platform to perfection.

He disclosed that the institution’s aim is not to replace the conventional school or teacher, but is a complementary tool and a sturdy support for students who may require extra help.

“At the moment, Enigma Academy proudly houses an extensive library of around 300 carefully recorded lessons. These high-quality educational resources span across key subject areas, including Accounting, Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics, providing comprehensive coverage for students.

“Each subject category fully encompasses the LGCSE syllabuses, ensuring that its content is in line with the current curriculum and facilitates effective learning. Each lesson is crafted with the greatest attention to detail, presented in a format that is both accessible and engaging for students,” he explained.

He said the lessons are designed to promote a deep understanding of each topic, providing students with the knowledge and skills they need to excel in their studies. Each lesson is a reflection of the academy’s commitment to delivering top-tier educational content that fosters academic growth and success.

“We understand that the scope of learning extends beyond these subjects, and we are dedicated to expanding our offerings to encompass a broader range of subjects.

“Enigma Academy is constantly evolving, and we are continually exploring opportunities to incorporate more courses into our platform,” he said.

The academy aims to add more subjects to its collection, ensuring that it caters to the diverse educational needs and interests of learners.

“We believe that every student deserves access to exceptional educational resources, regardless of their chosen path of study.

“As we continue to grow and adapt, our mission remains the same: to deliver high-quality, accessible, and engaging educational content that empowers students to achieve their full academic potential, further cementing our commitment to creating a “Brighter Future For All,” he added.

Enigma Academy’s motto is: ‘Brighter Future For All.’
