LHDA refurbishes water project’s unit 2

By Seleoe Nonyane

The Lesotho Highlands Development Authority (LHDA) has proceeded with the inspection and refurbishment of Unit 2, one of the three generating units at the 72kw ‘Muela Hydropower station.

This comes after the announcement of a planned outage scheduled to start in October.

According to a statement by LHDA, the inspection follows the successful completion of Units 1 and 2.

The LHDA is committed to ensuring that ‘Muela Hydropower is generating at full capacity in accordance with maintenance manuals and guidelines.

The refurbishment of Unit 3 is being carried out in-house by LHDA’s skilled workforce.

The chief executive officer of LHDA Tente Tente expressed confidence in the team’s competence and determination to complete the project with the set schedule.
