Nthebe launches financial advisory firm

Tokiso “Tkay” Nthebe, widely known as The Finance Traveller, has officially launched his own financial advisory firm, TKO Financial Wellness and Advisory.

At (36), Nthebe holds a Master of Commerce in Financial Management, a Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning Law, and certifications in financial coaching and employee benefits. Beyond finance, he has a keen interest in the tourism industry.

In an interview with theReporter, Nthebe described himself as a “multi-potential” individual, drawn to various fields.

However, his journey into financial wellness and literacy was shaped by personal financial struggles, including reckless spending, high debt levels, lack of savings, and mismanaging retirement benefits.

“My finances hit rock bottom, and I knew something had to change. This journey started as a blog post, where I openly shared my financial mistakes online,” Nthebe recalled.

Though initially daunting, sharing his experiences became a catalyst for launching TKO Financial Wellness and Advisory. Today, he serves as an independent financial advisor, author, podcast host, speaker, part-time lecturer, and travel blogger.

He believes in breaking the taboo around money conversations and encouraging financial responsibility.

“I am passionate about retirement planning and ensuring that everyone retires financially secure. Money talks can be uncomfortable, but I aim to make them relatable, relaxed, and fun,” he said.

Nthebe observed a growing interest among Basotho in tracking their expenses, managing debt responsibly, and preparing for unexpected financial challenges.

“Financial prosperity is our birth right. Let’s change our bad money habits, take control of our finances, and stop referring to money as ‘parcel’,” he advised in closing.
