NGO to provide free hearing aid to 180 students

Local non-governmental organisation, Kutlong Hearing Foundation (KHF) will launch a landmark initiative to provide aid to 180 students with hearing loss across three districts in the country.

The organisation will assist students from Mt. Royal High School and St. Paul Primary School in Leribedistrict, Andrew Blairs Orphanage in Mafeteng, as well as Kananelo School for the Deaf in Berea district, from April, 26.

Princess Senate Mohato Bereng Seeiso, government representatives and other stakeholders are expected to support the hearing aids fitting mission to enhance accessibility and inclusivity.

In a statement, the foundation’s public relations officer, ‘Masepere Mona, said the organisation is committed to empowering children with hearing loss by providing them with the resources and support needed to thrive and integrate seamlessly into society.

Mona indicated that the mission was aimed at bringing hope and improved quality of life to affected students. 

“This mission not only provides free hearing aids but also offers a platform for these individuals to reconnect with their families and communities,” Mona said.

KHF is dedicated to improving the lives of deaf and hard-of-hearing children in Lesotho through healthcare services, educational campaigns, and community outreach initiatives.
