Alliance donates wheelchairs to health ministry

MASERU — Alliance Insurance Company today donated 50 wheelchairs to the Ministry of Health at a ceremony held in Maseru.

Speaking at the event, Alliance’s Head of Sales and Distribution, Kekeletso Moshoeshoe, said the company is committed to making a positive impact across various sectors, including education, health, welfare, and entrepreneurship.

With significant strides already made in these areas, the company is now placing a stronger focus on healthcare.

“As part of our health initiative, we are donating 50 wheelchairs to the Ministry of Health to support hospitals, clinics, and individuals living with disabilities,” Moshoeshoe said. He added that the total value of the donation is M200,000.

“This contribution reflects Alliance’s commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and improving the quality of life for those in need,” he noted.

The Minister of Health, Selibe Mochoboroane, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation, acknowledging Alliance’s support as a significant step toward addressing the country’s healthcare needs.

He indicated, however, that Maseru District Hospital alone requires at least 100 wheelchairs to adequately serve its patients.

“We are deeply thankful to Alliance for this generous donation, it will primarily meet the needs within the Maseru district,” said Mochoboroane.

The minister further stressed the need for ongoing support and collaboration from private sector partners to ensure all patients receive the care and mobility assistance they deserve.
