CityzeenLs nears 1 million YouTube views

Lesotho artist Mpho Mofokeng, popularly known as CityzeenLs, is on the verge of a major milestone, with his hit song Hohle ke Lesotho approaching one million views on YouTube.

The song, which has resonated with audiences both locally and internationally, carries a strong message about resilience, faith, and the power of opportunity, regardless of one’s background.

Hohle ke Lesotho speaks to the belief that God can create opportunities for everyone, no matter where they come from. There’s a harmful mindset that people from rural or impoverished areas can’t achieve greatness, but that’s simply not true,” CityzeenLs explained.

He emphasised the importance of hard work, faith, and perseverance, saying these qualities can help individuals rise above their circumstances.

“Our origins don’t define our destiny. It’s our resilience and faith that open the door to success,” he said.

CityzeenLs sees the nearly 1 million views as more than just a number, but a symbol of his growth as an artist and the support he has received from his fans. He noted that this achievement shows that his music is being appreciated, and it pushes him to keep creating and improving.

The talented artist also highlighted how engagement with his audience has helped him understand their preferences better, enabling him to tailor his work while staying true to his roots.

“The feedback has been amazing. I’ve heard from people in Botswana, South Africa, and even overseas. It’s humbling.”

Looking ahead, CityzeenLs expressed a desire to collaborate with renowned South African artists Big Zulu and Sjava. “They promote their culture through music, just like I do. I’d love to blend our sounds and languages to create something unique.”

To fellow artists, his message is simple but powerful: “Never let others discourage you. Stand firm for what you believe in.”
