Residents of Senekane in Berea district and neighbouring villages are set to enjoy improved mobile connectivity after Econet Telecom Lesotho launched a network tower and handed over a school kitchen on Thursday.
The tower, located within the grounds of Senekane Primary School, is expected to improve network coverage for communities including Ha Letsipa, and Masaleng. Speaking at the event, Chief Mathealira Masupha thanked Econet for responding to the community’s needs through the two projects. He said the developments would benefit both residents and learners, while contributing to local growth. The chief also pledged that the community would protect the tower.
Senekane Primary School principal, Mapitso Mahase expressed gratitude for the new kitchen, saying it would improve food preparation and support learners’ welfare.
The chief executive officer of Econet Telecom, Lesotho Dennis plaatjies, urged residents to safeguard the tower and other infrastructure.
