Tethics fights cybercrime

By Seleoe Nonyane

A group of five Basotho information technology experts with extensive experience in cyber security, information security, and legal fields established a cybersecurity company called Tethics Incorporated in 2021 whose main objective is to protect the country’s businesses and organizations against the threat of cyberattacks.

Cyber security has become a great concern for businesses and organizations of all sizes as more companies become dependent on online platforms for their day to day operations so, it is for this reason Tethics Incorporated was established.

The company offers a comprehensive suite of cybersecurity services, including penetration testing, information security control auditing, business continuity, incident response and forensic investigation, security products implementation, organization cybersecurity strategy(policies).

The chief executive officer of Tethics Incorporated Tumelo Masasa says, as the threat of cybercrime continues to grow, Tethics is committed to helping businesses and organizations in Lesotho stay protected with their holistic approach to cybersecurity and their focus on building a strong cybersecurity culture.

Masasa said Tethics is leading the way in safeguarding Lesotho’s digital landscape.

He said since its inception, the company has successfully helped numerous organizations across different industries to strengthen their cyber security measures and mitigate cyber risks.

Masasa said Tethics’ commitment to providing effective and innovative cybersecurity solutions has earned the company a reputation as a leader in the cybersecurity industry in Lesotho.

“Our solution is differentiated by our focus on small and medium-sized businesses, providing them with a comprehensive and affordable cybersecurity solution that meets their unique needs,” Masasa said.

He noted that company’s approach to cyber security is different from other providers due to the fact that, instead of relying solely on technology to defend against cyber threats, Tethics takes a holistic approach that includes people, process and technology.

He explained that the approach enables Tethics to provide tailored solutions that address the unique needs of each client and ensures that they are fully protected from cyber threats.

“We believe that cybersecurity is not just a technology issue, but also a business issue; therefore, our approach to cybersecurity focuses on identifying and mitigating risks, and on building a strong cybersecurity culture within organizations.

“Tethics also recognizes the importance of cybersecurity awareness and education in mitigating cyber risks. The company offers training and awareness programs that help employees understand the importance of cybersecurity and how to protect themselves and their organizations from cyber threats,” he said.
