‘Mantšali Phakoana

King Letsie III yesterday led celebrations to mark Lesotho’s 57th independence at Thaba-Bosiu Cultural Village.

He also launched the commemoration of 200 years since King Moshoeshoe I founded the Basotho nation.

Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso, deputy prime minister Nthomeng Majara, and some cabinet ministers also attended the event.

In his address, the King said Independence Day is a very crucial event in the history of Lesotho that needs to be celebrated with peace and respect.

“As a nation, we should work hard to fight hunger and poverty, as well as reduce crime in the country,” he noted.
