Sasai launches EcoCash agents campaign

Sasai Econet Financial Services (SEFS), a subsidiary of Econet Telecom Lesotho, has officially launched the EcoCash Agents Campaign, a new initiative aimed at energising EcoCash’s agent network and promoting financial inclusion across Lesotho.

The campaign recognises and celebrates the vital role played by EcoCash agents in bridging communities to digital financial services.

Speaking at the event launch on Wednesday this week, SEFS General Manager, Moeketsi Mafereka, explained the significance of the initiative.

“This is not just another campaign. It is a celebration – a moment to shine a well-deserved spotlight on our EcoCash agents, who are the heart and soul of our mobile money ecosystem,” Mafereka said.

The EcoCash Agents Campaign, which runs until September 30, is open to all active EcoCash agents and sub-agents across the country.

According to Mafereka, the primary goal is to boost weekly and monthly cash-in transactions by at least 20 percent. Agents who meet the target will be rewarded with cash prizes.

Key highlights of the campaign include:

• Weekly Prizes: M1,000 for one agent from each of Lesotho’s 10 districts.

• Monthly Regional Prizes: M10,000 for one lucky agent from each of the North, Central, and South regions.

• Grand Prize: A remarkable M100,000 will be awarded to one outstanding agent at the conclusion of the campaign.

New or recently reactivated agents will also have a chance to enter the grand draw, provided they transact consistently for two months.

Mafereka acknowledged the critical support of Econet Telecom Lesotho in enabling the success of EcoCash.

“All this progress has been made possible by the strong foundation laid by our sister company, Econet Telecom Lesotho. With its advanced and widespread network coverage, EcoCash continues to reach places where traditional banking simply cannot go.”

He added that the collaboration allows digital financial services to be brought directly to the doorsteps of rural communities, enhancing accessibility and convenience for underserved populations.
