240 inmates released on parole

Two hundred and forty inmates have been released on parole.

This was said by government spokesperson, Nthati Moorosi, during a cabinet meeting today.

The parole was accorded by King Letsie III with the advice of a committee tasked to look into the welfare of inmates.

It was also done to celebrate 200 years of the foundation of the Basotho nation.

“The committee realised that the pardoned inmates have changed for the better and can now be integrated back into society,” she noted.

Moorosi also stated that the cabinet meeting was held to inform Basotho of what is happening within government.

“We want to keep Basotho up to date on what is happening,” she said.
