Free business registration ends

The Ministry of Trade, Industry and Business Development has urged Basotho-owned businesses to register before the end of today so that they can benefit from government funding.

Government last month officially launched theM400 million Inclusive Growth Facility to fund small to medium enterprises, run mainly by the youth and women. The funds will be disbursed through Lesotho Post Bank and First National Bank Lesotho.

“As we end 2025, financial access is open across all business sectors. Basotho are encouraged to register businesses or form cooperative societies as an alternative route for easier access to funding. The initiative is aimed at creating jobs that support inclusive economic growth,” the ministry said in a statement.

It encouraged sole trader and partnerships type of businesses to submit copies of their valid ID or passport and a completed application form.
