Petroleum prices go up

The Petroleum Fund, today announced the adjustment of petroleum products that will be effective from tomorrow Friday June 5.

The pump price of petrol 93 will be increased by M1.65; petrol 95 will go up by M1.80 per liter; the pump price of diesel 50 will go up by M1.30 per liter, and the wholesale price of illuminating paraffin will be increased by M1.55.

The new retail prices are as follows:

Petrol 93 – M 9.85 per liter;

Petrol 95 – M10.10 per liter;

Diesel 50 – M 10.40 per liter

Domestic Paraffin (Wholesale) – M5.45 per liter

The Petroleum Fund appeals to all retailers to charge proper prices as it is illegal to charge prices that are different from the gazetted ones. It says it has observed in the past, some retailers continued to charge prices that are above those set. It concludes by warning that any retailer who will be found to be charging prices in contravention of these newly set prices, will be prosecuted accordingly.
