The Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Lesotho has condemned the reported vandalism and destruction of equipment at KEL Radio in Morija.
The incident allegedly occurred over the weekend.
In a statement, MISA said the motive behind the incident and those responsible had not yet been established.
The organisation expressed solidarity with the management and staff of KEL Radio during what it described as a difficult period for the station.
MISA said attacks on broadcasting infrastructure could affect more than the media organisation itself, potentially disrupting journalists, media workers, audiences, sources and communities that depend on the station for information.
It welcomed the intervention of Minister of Information, Communication, Science, Technology and Innovation, NthatiMoorosi, following her visit to the station.
The organisation called on relevant authorities to conduct a thorough, independent and transparent investigation and ensure that anyone found responsible is dealt with according to the law.
