Lesotho PostBank uplifts the disabled

By Neo Kolane

Lesotho PostBank (LPB) on Saturday handed over wheelchairs, clothes and food parcels to disabled people at Mokhethoaneng Ha Sole, as part of its corporate social responsibility during the trying times of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Two disabled children aged seven and three were proud receipients of wheelchairs, food and disposable nappies; one adult received a wheelchair and food while another one was given food only.

Handing over the donations that were worth M50,000, LPB’s Chief Sales Officer, ‘Mathabo Tshehlo, pleaded with Basotho to support the bank so that it can continue giving back to the community.

She pointed out that; “LPB is growing because of Basotho and hence the bank’s ability to reinvest in the people.”

On behalf of the recipients, one of the villagers Retśelisitsoe Pheko, highlighted the plight of the disabled and vulnerble, compared to the able-bodied who can fend for themselves.

“It is not their parents’ fault that these children were born like this, it is God’s will. We are grateful to LPB – Lesotho’s one and only bank – for restoring the dignity of these people.”
