By Neo Mathibe

Metropolitan Health Lesotho donated personal protective equipment (PPE) to Independent Practitioners Association (IPA) today at a Maseru Golf Club.

The donation comprised, among others, hazmat suits, goggles, gloves and face shields, all valued at up to M334 000.

The event was graced by the presence of the former minister of health, ‘Molotsi Monyamane who commended Metropolitan Health Lesotho for their gracious act of donating the equipment to the private medical sector.

Dr Teboho Thabane, the secretary general of IPA, thanked metropolitan for the donation to the association and pointed out that it is befitting that they also be afforded the attention as health practitioners, as they too can use the help.

The general manager of Metropolitan Health, Sepinare Lenkoe, said that they have been partnering with Lesotho in the fight against Covid-19. They have assisted a number of government hospitals and today they were assisting the private sector in the health department. He pointed out that they do a great job even they may not always have the right equipment.
