EcoCash agent wins big

By Kefiloe Kajane

Local telecommunications company Econet Telecom Lesotho (ETL) gave away prizes worth more than M350 000 including a brand new Toyata Hilux Single Cab to EcoCash agents who participated in its agent cash-in promotion that was launched in June 2019 and ended in March 2020.

This was revealed by ‘Makatleho Raphoolo from ETL Ecocash services at the prize giving ceremony where Mpeoa Supermarket drove away a brand new Toyota van as a grand prize.

She indicated that Mpeoa exceeded all monthly targets set in terms of cash deposits/cash-ins and the number of transactions for the duration of the campaign thus being an agent with the highest percentage growth in the country.

The inter-districts competition saw other Ecocash agents becoming double and triple winners during monthly draws from the month of July 2019 to March 2020 hence more prizes were shared by fewer winners.

“The criteria used to enter the draw was based on the number of ‘cash-ins’ and transactions agents made per month from which an agent who has generated the highest growth won.

The purpose of the promotion was to empower and increase jobs for young entrepreneurs and small businesses as well as accelerate financial inclusion through Ecocash Spache-fono.

ETL chief executive officer Dennis Plaatjies congratulated the winners and thanked them for always using Ecocash.

He said they should continue doing a great job and always choosing ETL services.
