Quench your thirst with Konquer

By Neo Kolane

The thought that promptyed Thabo Tṧenoli’s to decide to name his ginger beer ‘Konquer’ was how lions dominate the jungle and actually ‘conquer’ it.

Konquer is a ginger beer business that started running on September 9 2019 and is set to bring new flavour to the ginger beer.

The drink has an assortment of flavours that have different tastes that have attracted customers. The flavours include vanilla, lemon, pineapple and the ordinary ginger beer.

Being one of the founders, Tṧenoli told theReporter that together with his partner Mosele Tsatsanyane thought of inventing new ways of producing ginger beer that was more different from the ordinary flavour.

He said the flavours blended so well with ginger and it is super smooth.

Tṧenoli said it all started from his love of ‘khemere’ (ginger). He loved juice as he had some difficulty with some acidic beverages.

The pair that started the business with a capital of M10 000 makes its ginger beer from scratch at Ha Thamae in Maseru.

“We are working on getting it in South Africa as well as to supply big supermarkets and restaurants,” Tṧenoli said.

The 25-year old claimed that what also stands out for their ginger beer is the way it is bottled.

He mentioned that Basotho are enjoying the drink and they love the different tastes.

“We use glass and not plastic and our supplier is from Ficksburg in South Africa.

“We sell Konquer M60 per six-pack and it can be found at Pioneer Road Engen Garage, Mejametalana filling station, Elibo Guest House, The Butcher and Carnivore,” Tṧenoli said.

The pair wants to introduce passion fruit and strawberry flavour into the beverage.

Tṧenoli can be contacted on +266-6392 4989.
