By Neo Kolane

To end the Basotho year Qiloane Campsite in Thaba-Bosiu Ha Khoabane will be hosting an assortment of activities for two days from July 30 to July 31 2022

The theme is Culture and Mokorotlo (Basotho hat).

In an interview with theReporter this week, the organiser of the event Teke Nkhahle explained that the aim is to promote tourism.

Nkhahle said that the Mokorotlo resembles the shape of the mountain known as Qiloane. He has realized that the Basotho hat is underated and not being sold as a symbol of Lesotho.

Nkhahle said people will be required to put on Mokorotlo hats that day.

He revealed that there are attractive places but which are at a hard to reach areas like a bushmen’s cave at an area called Ntlo-Kholo which is five kilometers from Ha Khoabane.

On July 30 there will be a short educational awareness to take place at the caves near Qiloane mountain.

While on July 31 there will be Sesotho games and New Year celebration with fireworks.
