CAFI trains journalists on economic reporting

The Competitiveness and Financial Inclusion (CAFI) project is hosting a two-day workshop aimed at enhancing journalists’ understanding of investment opportunities, financial inclusion and economic development in Lesotho.

The training, which starts today and ends tomorrow in Maseru, brings together media practitioners from various outlets to strengthen reporting on issues that influence the country’s economy and business environment.

Organisers say the media plays a vital role in informing the public about developments that affect investors, entrepreneurs and communities. Through its wide reach, the sector serves as an important channel for raising awareness of emerging opportunities and development initiatives.

The workshop seeks to equip journalists with the knowledge and skills needed to report accurately and effectively on complex economic matters.

The programme is expected to provide participants with practical insights into investment, entrepreneurship and financial inclusion.

Organisers believe improved economic reporting will help the public better understand issues that shape livelihoods and contribute to informed participation in Lesotho’s development agenda.
